Just got this clear covers for my manga and probably should have measured my manga before anything else. This one is good for taller books and the length of the whole clear covers is long enough to cover thicker books spine. As you have to actually ripped from the seam next to the sticky part, it gives the users more flexibility on how tight the clear covers should be on the book. I say, measured your books first. 

The 9" x 15 1/2" is the height of the book and how long the book is. The 8 3/4 tall and 15 1/2" long is talking about fat text book sort. The more robust books and not the paper thin ones.
